A proposal to cut officers at Springman and Attea Middle Schools has some parents concerned about compromised safety, despite the $65,000 in annual savings the switch would bring the district. With $1.8 million in cuts projected for the 2012-2013 school year, the district is getting creative and says replacing officers with certified teachers will not affect student’s safety while at school, Glenview Announcements reports.

The district has completed radon testing after some parents expressed concerns—and it was determined that all buildings are safe.
